Cupira User Guide
Cupira helps you track what you want to buy, how much it costs, how much you already have, and how close you are to owning it. This guide walks through the full product from account setup to planning, live FinBase linking, and account safety.
Getting started
Cupira is a purchase-planning workspace. You can use it as a standalone planner or optionally connect FinBase for live goal balances.
The normal flow is: create an account, verify your email, add planned items, optionally link a FinBase goal, and track your remaining gap over time.
Account access
To use Cupira, create an account with your name, email, and password. After signup, Cupira sends a verification email before full access is granted.
If you have not verified your email yet, Cupira keeps you in the verification flow until your account is confirmed. You can resend the verification email or change the email address if needed.
If you forget your details during signup or login, make sure the email is correct, the CAPTCHA challenge is completed, and the password meets the required strength.
Dashboard overview
The dashboard gives you a quick summary of your planning position.
Total planned is the sum of all target prices across active items.
Total available is the sum of the effective available amount across active items. This can come from manual entry or a live FinBase-linked goal.
Remaining gap is calculated as total planned minus total available, never below zero.
Active items shows how many current items are still in planning.
The recent items panel shows the latest active plans and their current affordability state.
Creating and managing items
Each item represents something you plan to buy. You can store the item name, category, target price, source name, source URL, source price, notes, priority, status, and amount available.
Use priorities to decide what matters most. Use statuses like planned or saving to reflect where you are in the process.
Source information is optional, but helpful when you want to remember where you saw the item and what it cost at the time.
Notes are useful for context such as alternatives, buying conditions, timing, or why the item matters to you.
FinBase integration
FinBase integration in Cupira is optional and read-only. Cupira does not move money, create transactions, or edit goals inside FinBase.
When connected, Cupira can pull your FinBase goal data and let you link a specific goal to a specific item. Once linked, Cupira uses the live FinBase goal amount for affordability calculations.
This works best when a FinBase goal clearly represents the savings progress for one planned item.
Manual amount, live amount, and remaining gap
Cupira keeps a manual amount field and can also use a live FinBase-linked amount.
If an item is not linked to FinBase, Cupira uses the manual amount available.
If an item is linked to an active FinBase goal, Cupira uses the live FinBase amount as the effective amount.
The remaining gap for an item is target price minus effective amount, never below zero.
If you disconnect FinBase later, Cupira falls back to the manual amount for calculations, but still preserves previously linked goal context such as the goal name, last synced amount, and last synced time where available.
Bought and archived items
When you buy an item, mark it as bought. Cupira moves it out of active planning and into the bought or archived section.
You can also archive an item manually if you do not want it in the active list for now.
Restoring an item brings it back into active planning so you can continue tracking it.
Settings
The settings page is where you connect or disconnect FinBase, review legal pages, access contact information, and manage account safety actions.
When a FinBase connection is active, Cupira displays connection status and basic connected account details for confirmation.
Delete account
The danger zone allows permanent deletion of your Cupira account.
To prevent mistakes, Cupira requires your current password, an exact typed confirmation phrase, and a final checkbox confirmation.
This removes your Cupira account and Cupira-side records. It does not delete your separate FinBase account.
Troubleshooting
My item linked to FinBase but the amount looks wrong: confirm the correct goal is linked and the FinBase connection is still active.
I disconnected FinBase and values changed: that is expected. Cupira switches back to the manual fallback amount when live sync is unavailable.
I cannot access the dashboard after signup: verify your email first.
I need help: use the contact page at /contact.
